Underground PMD containers will be removed: help keep your neighbourhood clean
We will remove four underground PMD containers on Wednesday, July 9. These are located at Wilhelminaplein and ’t Straatje.
Two containers are broken
The two PMD containers on ’t Straatje are damaged due to improper use. Until all containers are removed, you can still use the two containers at Wilhelminaplein. The regular curbside collection will continue as usual.
Why are the containers being removed?
The containers are often misused. People throw in the wrong types of waste, like food scraps, general waste, and paper. This contaminates the PMD, making it unsuitable for recycling. It must then be incinerated, which costs money and harms the environment. The municipality pays these costs – and so do you, through the waste collection charge.
What does this mean for you?
You can still use the curbside collection for your PMD waste. This happens every two weeks. It’s effective and results in clean waste that can actually be recycled.
Allowed in the PMD bag:
- All plastic packaging
- Metal packaging
- Drink cartons
Note: No food scraps, no paper, no general waste.
Together, we keep Gennep clean
By sorting your waste properly, we keep the town clean and waste collection affordable.
