Letter Art GENNEP
This artwork is an initiative by Tourist Info Gennep, supported by the municipality of Gennep and four local family businesses. These companies are deeply rooted in our beautiful region, rich in cultural history, nature, and hospitality. A place that both visitors and residents enjoy.
Hans Bakker, the creator of the artwork, shares how his idea came to life:
"I noticed that GENNEP has something symmetrical. The E's and N's are obvious, and with a bit of imagination, you can turn the letter G into a P. This sparked the idea for a double-sided readable logo. Besides being funny and graphically unique, I believe it’s something no other place name has."

Since 1920, AVG has grown from a small family business, which started with a horse and cart, into a major player in infrastructure, recycling, and raw materials. Four generations later, AVG continues to innovate and grow internationally while staying true to its Gennep roots. The 'G' in AVG proudly stands for Gennep, where the company started. AVG combines traditional craftsmanship with modern technologies, focusing on sustainability. They are involved in many regional projects, and their connection to the community is an important part of their identity.
Teunesen Zand en Grint
Teunesen has been a family business in Gennep for over 80 years. The company extracts sand and gravel, which are essential for building houses and roads. After extraction, Teunesen ensures the areas are repurposed, often turning them into nature reserves or recreational areas. Teunesen also contributes to employment and the economy in the region. Because they are deeply connected to Gennep, they also support local initiatives, with this GENNEP artwork being a great example.
