Gennep is a city with an ancient history. Buildings and streets remind of old times. Gennep is a town where you like to go to, walking through the old streets, you can visit the shops, the restaurants en the pubs. The old City Hall, the medieval city wall, the local museum, the historic protestant church are all worth seeing. But you should also visit the Ellen Hoffmannplein, a square, famous for it’s beautiful mosaic tiles.
In and around Gennep there are many beautiful spots. Gennep is part of the nature reserve “De Maasduinen” with many riverdunes, forests, heatherfields and small creeks. Furthermore, Gennep and surroundings still have a lively ceramic culture, with "Keramisto", an international event as highlight.
